Second Saturdays Presents Pumpkin Painting
On Saturday, October 13th 2-4pm, the Caroline County Council of Arts (CCCA) will host pumpkin painting at the Denton Community Demonstration Garden, as part of its “Second Saturday” series offered at the Denton Artsway in downtown Denton. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own pumpkin to decorate. Small pumpkins will also be provided.
Traditionally an oil painter, at Halloween-time, Foundry artist, Barbara Donnon enjoys painting pumpkins of all sizes. “It is an easy way to decorate for Halloween and the pumpkins last longer than carved ones!” A Caroline County resident for over 30 years, Barbara is inspired by the beauty of the Eastern Shore. Her works depict scenes of animals, landscapes, and other shore life.
Barbara Donnon’s artwork is on display at The Foundry which is open Wednesday through Saturday 11-5. Free demonstrations and activities from a variety of artists are held the second Saturday of every month from 2-4pm. Next month’s ”Second Saturdays” presents a Thanksgiving themed fiber art activity at the Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore (FACES).
