Fiber Arts Center Seeking Artists, Groups & Businesses

Fiber Arts Center Seeking Artists, Groups & Businesses

The Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore (FACES) is seeking fiber artists, groups, and businesses from throughout Delmarva to join its online community. The organization received a USDA grant to develop a regional directory that helps fiber arts consumers and enthusiasts discover resources in the region. The project also includes development of a regional events calendar, where information about exhibits and classes is shared. The directory and calendar are available on the FACES website at www.fiberartscenter.com.

Thanks to the USDA funding, fiber artists, groups, and businesses are able to join the directory free of charge through August 31, 2017. FACES has engaged Lynda Blades to serve as outreach coordinator to help artists and businesses complete their directory profiles. Anyone interested in joining the directory may contact Lynda at outreachcoordinator@fiberartscenter.com or 410-829-0334.

Once a member of the directory, FACES helps promote the artist, group, or business through social media and its monthly newsletter. Directory members may share information about their events in the regional calendar, which is also promoted by FACES.

In addition to its online resources, FACES operates a gallery in Denton that features rotating fiber arts exhibits and hosts classes and workshops. The upcoming event schedule includes:

Donna Clauer Stufft: Painted Stitches

June 24 – September 2, 2017

Acrylic painting on cotton with free-motion thread sketching over top; assembled with quilting techniques to create stunning wall hangings

The Modern Quilt Guild of the Eastern Shore

Presenting a modern take on a traditional artform; quilts displayed will feature contemporary patterns and fabrics

Additional information about upcoming exhibits, the regional directory, and regional events calendar are available on the FACES website at www.fiberartscenter.com.
